Reality Update,
Mid-July - 1999.

The stone is rolling amazingly smoothly at the moment, in fact, so smoothly rolls the stone that the increase in velocity is scarcely discernible, till I look in the rear vision mirror that is.

Trouble with looking in the rear view mirror too much is you can't pay as much attention to what's happening ahead.

Point is.

rebelart (which is me & the BBt-PPP) is relieved to finally announce that it has just clinched a deal on a road side performance space.

An empty area beside a road rarely travelled, an empty space upon which to create the cyber movie set.

The location is ideal and what's more totally year 2 K compatible.

This is not a test.

This will not become untrue tomorrow.

I know cause I tested, I waited since yesterday to update this, I've been let down before. It's tomorrow and it's still happening, in fact over a week has past and we are still moving forward.....

In fact, there has never been a better time to start on building the statue, 1999 has been an outstanding year for cannabis activism, first the Mardi Grass, then the HIGHLY successful Big Joint Cannabus Crusade and the 'unarrested' Peoples Drug Summit has created a most positive climate with in which to commence.

As to what's happening.

Wednesday the 4th of August 1999 is the "starting date" and if you happen to be 'geographically convenient' then you are invited to ppparticipate in the 'ground breaking ceremony.' (e-mail to receive directions to the BONG SITE and confirm your appearance.)

Anywwway, the BONG SITE is a blank canvas upon which to create, an empty parcel of land that is not connected (yet) to mains power or the telephone grid, it is truly in the cyber wilderness. To many people it may seem bizarre, trying to start a computer based concept in the middle of no where, but of course, from our pppoint of view, it is the very fact that the land is empty that makes it so attractive.

This project has always been about the creation of something new, something that is totally different from anything else you can find any where or any web, a concept that is original in intent and in content.

At first, it will be difficult to bring you live footage from the site, being as how the closest web connections are 200 meters from the BONG SITE, however, we have already found a way around this, but, here is not the place to explain the intricacy of the off-line machinations that are about to take place to ensure that y'all will be there with us as we start on what will probably become the most visible campaign of cannabist & peace activism on the surface of Planet Earth.

Anyway, I have heaps to do to prepare for the next stuff that is happening here and also my continuing role as the non official smokes person for the radical fringe of the cannabis law reform movement. Oh, one last thing before I go, there is an other 'experiment' that you may wish to PPParticipate in, the BBt-PPP e-group.

The e-group is kind of a hybrid thing, not quite a web site or a message board or an e-mail list or a chat interface, the e-group is kinda all of them at once. At this stage I have included for a month on a trial basis, mostly to enable y'all to communicate with each other, however, most, if not all of the e-groups 'functions' have been part of the weave of this web zone for a while and I dunno how y'all feel about receiving increasing vortexes of e-mail about a subject you can 'find out all about' by simply cerfing this web zone.

Anyway, cerf over to the e-group and make up your own mind, it is held else web and you will be exposed to advertizing. Not to mention the fact that since it is an 'elseweb' organization, they may at some future stage, sell the list generated by the BBt-PPP e-group and SPAM may result.

Not saying it will, but this is the web we are talking about, and as you know, the web is considered a marketing tool by many and they - the direct marketers- treat us, the members of the cyber space colony, as if the only reason we have for cerfing the net is to find new and interesting consumer goods to purchase.
