Necessary Preamble: Webgreetings and welcome to the "Micro Reality Update," the up close look at the day to day activities of the BBt-PPP. I have been loathe to incorporate this feature for many years now, mostly 'cause the first couple of years I didn't have daily access to a qwerty and therefore couldn't incorporate a daily note pad, then for the next couple of years that I've had daily access to a qwerty, all I have been doing is generating the <hypertext> required to construct this web zone.

A still other reason for holding back on this feature thus far, has been the amount of time it takes to generate a page of <hypertext> that makes sense when you read it, no easy task unto it's self I might add, then add that to the co$t of connecting to the www in order to upload it to the server (a minimum of @50 cents a pop) and, well, I'm sure you can see why I have been reticent thus far to add this feature.

However, I think that now the time is right to add a "Micro" Reality Update to this cyber space, I think this because there is a continuity nightmare approaching, already it is difficult to organize this web zone in a way that makes simultaneous sense for all who drop by and still adequately relay the information that I feel that I need to.

Add to all of the above that I am never sure how many of my words you want to read 'at any one time', nor, when it gets right down to it, am I that confident that enuff happens on a daily basis to justify anyone returning on a daily basis, but, then the BBt-PPP is not designed to be the only web site you visit when you go on line, nor is daily visitation necessary, I mean, I doubt that I would visit here more than once a week if I wasn't the dude who is doing the do, but hey, it's not for me to say how often or rarely you visit here, my task is simply to provide the content 'in case' you are coming here every day ;O)--~

Micro Reality Update, good till

Webgreetings Dear Linear Scholar,

I'm starting to wonder whether this rain will ever end, but then, the Peace Camp is in the middle of the rain forest and they don't call 'em rain forests for nothing, anyway......

The weather has been unable to stop the last 22 web shows, indeed, there is not a cloud in the sky as I write these words and so the wwwindow will be open most of Saurday Night and most of Sunday Afternoon. The caption across the bottom of the image will let you know whether the wwwindow is open when you get there and how long till it opens again, well that's the plan anyway ;O)--~

Speaking of wwwindows and web shows, it's time to make a decision as to what frame size you prefer, there is a choice between 640X480 and 320X240, the difference being the amount of upload/download time.

The thing is, that the 640X480 takes almost 90 seconds to upload at 28.8 and the 640X480 image is huge compared to 320X240, (90KB @verage compared to a 14 KB), anyhow, since I only got one computer and one webcam, it's one of them one or the other situations.... your call dear linear scholar..

When it gets right down to it, size may be irrelevant, I mean it's not as if we are trying to compete with television or anything, indeed the web cam is a window into the head quarters of the BBt-PPP and as you have seen, not much actually happens in the center of wwworld peace, sure there is the occasional human visitor and a kangaroo or two, but by and large, it's just the tranquil scene of plants innocently growing.

Indeed, the plants are loving all the attention they are getting, they have all filled out considerably over the last week or so and most of the plants are just beginning to flower, not flower as in male, flower as in buds. It's a shame that there is no way to upload smell, I gotta tell you- the air quality with-in the Peace Circle is.... well, it smells like Green Freedom to me ;O)--~

Anyway, the current series of web shows has been a success thus far, with out too many problems or delays, and judging from the feed-back, the wwwindow into the Peace Camp is wwworth wwwatching, particularly - it seems - whilst puffing on one's own Peace Pipe ;O)--~

I might also add that the length of a web show is approximately one hour, but I should also add that the daily 4.20 AEST webshow is the guaranteed daily minimum, I often have the web cam turned on when the Chat Room is open, depends a lot on the available light and what, if anything, is happening in the Peace Camp and Chat Room.

In other news we are just about to connect a couple of other computers into the Peace Camp L.A.N. This gives us 56 K modem speeds and the possibility of sound, more on that as it happens.

Of course, things move slowly here at BBt-PPP Head-Quarters and what should take hours can sometimes takes weeks or months. Suffice to that the current level of image broadcast is the worst and slowest it is ever going to be....

Anyway, nothing else to say but see you @ 4.20 ;O)--~

Left over lines from days previous....

Firstly, the 'End Use' of the plants that decorate the Peace Camp Cyber Set, 90 % of them are to be used to pack the ultra cone at the opening ceremony of the 50 Footer and 10% of them are tithed to the Compassion Club.

Secondly, a 12Volt battery has been donated, this leaves just 2 obstacles to over come before the Peace Camp can be transferred to the Peace Zone.

Thirdly, no thirdly, well, not that I can think of, but there is some;

Technical stuff; little qwerty's modem (an internal PCM/CIA card) seems to stop working after about 1 hour of wwwork, mind you the modem is over 5 years old and the web cam requires it to upload about 1.8 MB p/hour, anyway, either old age, over use or over heating is causing the connexion to drop out. This means that there is a good chance of an occasional 5 minute disruption to the live feed as I pull the modem out to give it a chance to cool down and then reboot and reconnect to the web. Indeed, the drop out rate is of real concern, I mean, the Gadgetbudget indicator is pointing at E, which I either stands for Empty or Enough, either way, it looks like a new modem will be required in the very near future, natcherally I will continue with the equipment I have got till it don't wwwork no more.

Oh, one last thing b4 U go, regarding the FreeShop end of webshow OUT DOOR at the LIVE WWWINDOW, you are under no obligation to purchase any products from FreeShop, but if you do, a percentage of the $ you spend will also be donated to the BBt-PPP. Natcherally all $ received from your participation in the FreeShop program will be spent on the BBt-PPP and not $pent on me.
